Mike decided to build a new home in Foster, near Wilson’s Promontory. His plan was to build his dream home, and also two Bed & Breakfast accommodations.

This property is over a kilometre from the electricity grid and when Mike contacted the electricity distributor for a quote to connect the mains, he was shocked to discover it was going to cost over $70,000.

Instead, our experienced off-grid team designed a tailored solution, complete with premium panels installed on a ground mounted frame away from the house and a bank of batteries that could power the home for 5 days, without needing to recharge. We also included an automatic backup generator, just in case. The system was installed in a purpose-built shed with ventilation, and the electricity was then trenched 80 metres up to the property.

All this was delivered for less than the cost of the cost of connecting mains electricity!

Mike is now running his home and the B&B’s completely off the grid, with clean energy and absolute peace of mind that he has secured his ongoing electricity costs. Even with all the appliances running in the properties, he still rarely has to use his generator backup.
